Education & Marketing Coordinator, Alabama Center for Real Estate
From Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Cherie graduated from Tuscaloosa Academy and the University of Alabama with a B.S. in Human Environmental Sciences – Consumer Affairs (cum laude) and an M.S. in Human Environmental Sciences – Interactive Technology. Cherie currently works as the Director of Education, Marketing and Communications at the Alabama Center for Real Estate (ACRE). Prior to joining ACRE, Cherie worked with her husband David at Crimson Homes, which publishes a monthly real estate magazine covering Tuscaloosa and Bibb Counties and provides real estate photography, video, and social media marketing services. Crimson Homes was recognized as Affiliate of the Year by the Tuscaloosa Women’s Council of REALTORS® in 2008 and by the Tuscaloosa Association of REALTORS® in 2015. Prior to Crimson Homes, Cherie was a marketing communications professional for over 20 years.
Cherie is currently serving as the chair of the Tuscaloosa Association of REALTORS® Education Committee. She also serves on the Boy Scouts of America national Design & Development Panel and volunteers with the Boy Scouts of America Black Warrior Council as the public relations chair of the River District Committee and as a Personal Management merit badge instructor.
A self-professed tech geek, Cherie is recognized by the Alabama Real Estate Commission as a CE instructor. She is a GRI technology instructor for the Alabama Association of REALTORS® and also teaches the ABR®, e-PRO® and Green designations.
President, David Skinner LLC
David C. Skinner was raised in Birmingham Alabama, received his undergraduate degree from Tulane University and his J.D. summa cum laude from The University of Alabama School of Law. At law school, David was ranked first (1 of 87) in his section, was a member of Order of the Coif, received seven "Best Papers" and was a published member of the Alabama Law Review. David is listed in Best Lawyers In America, Super Lawyers in Alabama and Top Lawyers in Birmingham.
He practices law full time and lectures, publishes, and serves on numerous professional committees. David is a member of the Alabama Law Institute's Real Estate Study Committee which prepares real property legislation for the State of Alabama. He currently serves on the Civil Courts Procedures Committee for the 10th Judicial Circuit (Jefferson County). David served as a Vice-Chairman or Co-Chairman on a variety of committees for the Business Council of Alabama over a ten-year period. In 2002, the Governor appointed David to the Alabama Department of Industrial Relations Advisory Council.
David has lectured for the University of Alabama, Auburn University, the University of North Alabama, Jacksonville State University and Lawson State Community College. He was certified as a Senior Professional In Human Resources (SPHR) by the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI) in 2000. Mr. Skinner has written numerous articles, handbooks, pamphlets and books. His publications include:

Mr. Skinner is a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve (Retired). His final assignment was a Legal Advisor (similar to an Administrative Law Judge) throughout the southeast. He is a graduate of the United States Army Command & General Staff College. He graduated first (1 of 96) in his Army Judge Advocate (lawyer) Officer Advanced Course. Prior to law school, Mr. Skinner served on active duty with the U.S. Army as a commissioned officer. He graduated first in his Artillery Officer Course, second in his MLRS (Rocket/Missile) Leader's Course and received certifications as an OSHA Hazard Communication Instructor, Hazardous Waste Manager and Formal Schools Instructor. David is also a Federal Ethics Counselor (US Army). Following his military service and prior to practicing law, Mr. Skinner worked in management in the hazardous materials transportation (trucking) industry in Alabama.
David has been married for 15 years, has two young children and his family attends St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. David is an Eagle Scout, a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Donald B. Wilkerson, CPM® 2017 IREM® Secretary/Treasurer Gaston and Wilkerson Management Group, AMO® Sacramento, California Don Wilkerson is President/CEO of the Reno-based Gaston and Wilkerson Management Group, AMO® , a full-service real estate firm engaged in multifamily, commercial and industrial management, as well as development and brokerage. Don is also currently serving as the IREM 2017 Secretary/Treasurer.
Don got his start in the appraisal business, where he learned how to value buildings. But it wasn’t until he began acquiring properties and getting involved in IREM® that he really understood how to manage them. Don earned his CPM® designation in 2003 and began to participate in, and volunteer with, his local IREM chapter, where he’s held numerous leadership positions and served twice as its president. To Don, the opportunities afforded to him by IREM® have been exceptional, and he wants to help other IREM® Members capitalize on their potential.
